Message From Our Executive Director
Sickle cell disease is a blood disorder which an assortment of challenges for those living with it. The pain and suffering experienced by those who have it is indescribable and can result in irreparable damage to organs and systems within the human body. Children living with sickle cell need our love and resources. Caregivers of children living with sickle cell need our love and support. Sickle cell impacts a number of nationalities while often being overlooked, under served, and under resourced. Sickle Cell Miami resides in an area of the United States which serves the highest number of individuals and families diagnosed with sickle cell disease and sickle cell trait. Your support helps Sickle Cell Miami provide annual programs, such as the Breakfast with Santa Toy Distribution event, Milk and Cookies with Santa Toy Distribution event, transporting the children to Boggy Creek Summer Camp, and the Sickle Cell Run/Walk. Therefore, I’m asking the community of South Florida to continue helping us, help children living with sickle cell!

Sickle Cell Miami is the local chapter of the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America, an advocacy organization in support of providing research and resources for children and families living with sickle cell disease. Your donation to Sickle Cell Miami will help us provide requisite resources for children and families across Miami-Dade County. In addition to referring patients for medical care, we are also working to develop support groups and counseling. Advancements are made daily with respect to treatments for sickle cell disease and your gift will help to accelerate this process while providing the resources to children and families. We need your help to Break the Sickle Cycle!
